away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving
family. Brittany was born on November 1, 1978 in Fort Collins,
Colorado, a daughter to David B. Stroud and Julene Hale.
If you ever met Brittany it didn’t take long for you to know that
her Savior, her husband, and her children were the center of
her world. A deep love for Christ was evident by her
unwavering faith, love for God’s people, dedication to her
church and her genuinely kind heart. Though her time on this
earth was short she made an incredible impact on countless
lives. Following high school, Brittany attended Arizona State
University eventually transferring to Northern Arizona
University where she would graduate with her Bachelor’s degree
in Business. She then moved to California to be close to her
family and that’s where she met the love her life, Erik Atkinson.
The two married in 1999 and shared twenty-two wonderful
years together. Brittany and Erik made their way to Georgia
where Erik would open his dental practice and together they
would raise their three amazing children. Being a mother to her
children became a full-time passion and Brittany considered it
her greatest accomplishment. She was very involved in all their
activities, whether it was school, swim meets, competition
dance, music lessons, baseball, or soccer. When she had a
moment to herself, Brittany could be found actively looking for
ways to serve everyone around her whether for her community,
church, or loved ones. She enjoyed singing, traveling, and
spending time laughing and playing games with her extended
family and countless friends. Brittany was a wonderful daughter,
wife, mother, sister and friend; she will certainly be missed by
all who knew and loved her.
Along with her mother and father, Brittany’s family includes
her loving husband, Erik Atkinson; three children, Ryder, Reese
and Wyatt; step-mother, Kristin Stroud; three brothers,
Brandon Stroud and his wife Melanie, Jaymeson Stroud and his
wife Shelby, Shane Stroud and his wife Melanie; in-laws, Dell
and Roberta Atkinson; and several nieces, nephews, extended
family members and friends. Brittany is preceded in death by
her sister, Ashley Ann Stroud.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Brittany L. Atkinson
will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday,
December 31, 2021 in the chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, 500 Norcross Street, Roswell, Georgia
30075. The family will receive friends from ten o’clock in the
