Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Beatriz was one of eight children. At the age of 17, she courageously moved to the United States with her sister in New Orleans where she met and married Brian Lambert.
Shortly after marrying, they moved to Lubbock, Texas, where they began their family. Beatriz devoted herself to raising her two children. After they grew up, she earned a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University. She went on to teach Spanish at Doña Ana Community College in Las Cruces, New Mexico—a role she immensely enjoyed.
Beatriz was vibrant and social. She loved sewing, cooking, traveling, music, and dancing, and she forged lasting friendships wherever she went. Her outgoing personality and warm heart touched many lives.
Beatriz is survived by her children, Mark Lambert (Lisa) and Kerry Tanner (Sean Tanner); her grandchildren, Taylor Auriti, Annabelle Tanner, and Audrey Tanner; her great-grandchildren, Casen, Carsyn, and Camden Auriti; and her sisters, Frances and Cecilia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Lambert, three brothers, and two sisters.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Beatriz to Friends of Race Against Dementia, https://www.raceagainstdementia.com/donate
Beatriz will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
