Jeremy James Herbert Shafer, passed away on January 23, 2024 at the young age of 32. Jeremy was born to Jodi Medd and Carl Shafer Jr. on March 27, 1991. Jeremy had a heart of gold, he didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He was like a big teddy bear. He was a music lover and he also loved wrestling. He was a referee for BCWA for over 10 years. He was an avid gamer/ streamer. He enjoyed playing GTA 5. He loved all animals, especially his cat, Wendy. Most of all Jeremy loved his family. Beloved son of Jodi (Sheldon Huggler) Medd and Carl Shafer Jr. Loving brother of Jacob (Molly Phillips) Shafer and Jordan (Olivia Edwards) Huggler. Jeremy leaves behind his loving fiancé of almost seven years, Kody. Dearest nephew of Jami (Daniel) Bond, Kathy (Rick) Vantroostenberghe, Daniel (the late Jeannie) Shafer, Linda (Scott) Peters and Wendy Shafer. Dear grandson of Leota Acoin, Kathleen Shafer, and great-grandson of Joanne Awe. He was extremely proud to be a first time uncle to his new nine-month-old niece, McKenzie. He was a loving Godfather to Austin James (he was named after Jeremy). Jeremy is also survived by many other family member and cousins and an overwhelming amount of friends. He is predeceased by his grandpa, Carl Shafer Sr. great-grandpa, Herbert Awe, Grandma Janice Medd and Grandpa Ernest Medd.
A visitation for Jeremy will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Kaul Funeral Home.
