Albert F. Provost, age 91, a resident of Roseville, passed away August 27, 2013. Al graduated from Eastern High School in June of 1940. He worked for a time at an aircraft parts manufacturing company. During World War II he was drafted into the U.S. Army on October 27, 1944. He served with the 820 Tank Destroyer Battalion, Company B. He was stationed at Camp Hood in Texas, Camp Atterbury in Indiana, Camp Bowie in Texas, and Fort Knox in Kentucky. He was sent overseas and took part in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium during the winter of 1944 and 1945. His marriage to Rosemary Beste on May 4, 1946 was at St. Veronica Church in East Detroit, Michigan now known as Eastpointe. Al was a lifelong fisher, an avid bowler, and an especially good Polka dancer.
Al was the beloved husband for 67 years of Rosemary Provost; loving father of Daniel (Sharon) Provost, Ronald (Diana) Provost, Gerald (Bobbie) Provost, Lawrence (Sandra) Provost, Joan (James) Rausch, Joseph (Kathy) Provost, and Albert (Denise) Provost; devoted grandfather of 22, great-grandfather of 27, and great-great-grandfather of 1; and dear brother of Adeline Elbode and the late Robert Provost.
Visitation Friday, August 30, from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. with a scripture service and a time for sharing 7:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville.
