 My stepdad ,,,I met Rich when I was 14 years old he picked me up at a celebration and drove me home to my mother's, within a year they were dating At first I didn't get along with him ,but after 4 years he became the most solid stable honest man in my life he was definitely one of the good ones he was the voice of reason he was the problem solver I got to watch my mother have an amazing relationship with her best friend the love of her life Rich is and always will be one of the good ones! I watched him take care of my mother when she had cancer more than once he was always there ,he was a phone call away ,he was definitely one of the good ones, he spent a lot of time with my my boys Ricky and Randy they looked up to him I was blessed to have been able the see Rich almost everyday and I gave him a big hug hello and I gave him a big hug and kiss goodbye and I always told him I loved him before I left ,I love him I miss him dearly.    juls

Words aren't enough to express what I feel. I've lost the greatest love of my life. But if grief is the price we pay for love, I would pay it over again to love you. The Lord blessed me with 35 wonderful years together and for that I am eternally thankful. 35 years of love, laughter, adventures, and life well-lived with my best friend. While it doesn't seem near enough time, I am holding onto the promise that awaits us. The way you lived, the way you saw the world, the family we've built together, your sense of humor, your stubbornness, and all that encompassed who you were will forever be in my heart. Sue and Family: We are so very sorry for your loss. I remember Rich growing up in our big Italian family was always so kind to us younger family members. We have some wonderful family cousin memories. Since we are in Colorado I am so very sorry we will not be with you to celebrate his life. as first cousins we were able to spend some time together when i had to cover stories in pacifica.  he on the police side and me as a photo journalist..they were fond memories..we will all miss him. sue,  so sorry we will be unable to attend the services..our thoughts and prayers from bonnie and fred.. god bless.....

I first met Richard in 1986. We shared some great times over the years. Richard was a most caring and generous person to his family, friends and even complete strangers.  My Sister Susan was dedicated to caring for Richard through his various challenges of the past decade.  Richard cared a lot about all of his family.                                                                                                                                  My Sister Susan married this gem of a fellow . In one of my most recent conversations with Richard I shared with him that I still enjoy walking around and living in the San Francisco neighborhood that Richard, his Mom and Dad and brother Bob and many Aunts and Uncles once resided. Richard was the ultimate son in law to my Dad , (a brave world war 2 veteran)he thought the world of him.  See you again someday Brother Rich,    David Brueck
