Hank was born in Braintree, Massachusetts, and grew up in the suburbs of Boston. After graduation from high school, he was a crew member on a B-25 in the Army Air Corps. He met his future wife, Marjorie and they were married on February 19, 1949 in Rutland, Vermont.
They moved back to the Boston suburbs and then moved to Philadelphia where they welcomed their son, Hal.
In 1957, they moved to Cupertino, California, where Hank spent most of his career as an aerospace engineer at Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale. He worked on the Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident missile systems.
After his wife’s passing in 2001, he moved to Roseville, California. Hank enjoyed playing golf, dancing, reading and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Hank is survived by his son, Hal, and daughter in law Cathy of Granite Bay; grandson, Matthew, of Santa Barbara; granddaughter Elizabeth of Lawrence, Kansas; sister Betty Burgess of Windsor, Maine; brother Palmer Porter of North Sutton, New Hampshire and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie, and his brother Warren.
Hank will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his smile and his passion for golf.
