Sawyer, Cora Lee, Beloved Mother, is best remembered as being compassionate to others and as a devoted Christian who was born October 26, 1919 in Natural Dam, Arkansas to Parents, Edward and Iva (Allen) McDowell; She joined God's family on April 6, 2013. Cora graduated from Sierra Vale High School, where upon she worked for the city as a clerk. Showing an independent spirit, she moved west to Roseville, California and worked for McClellan Field for 10 years. There she met Fred R Jackson, her first Husband and soon thereafter, Irvin was born. Several years after Fred's passing, Cora met and married Guy Sawyer.He passed away in 1996. Cora Lee is survived by Sons, William E Sawyer and Irvin R Jackson, both of Roseville,CA, her Sister, Katie Williams of Texas and numerous Grandchildren. Cora Lee was an incredibly active person, donating her time to the Sacramento Orphans Home, Beta Epsilon Chi Sorority, the Dry Creek Home Department and The Roseville Arranger's Guild, where she won numerous awards for her flower arrangements. She excerised at Curves until her Cancer Diagnosis in late December. She traveled throughout Europe and the United States. Cora Lee was well known for her down home cooking and Friendliness to everyone she met; she made friends to all and the saying "she never knew a stranger' describes her laughing nature perfectly. We will miss you more than words can express, but we know your reunion with the Lord in Heaven was joyous. All are invited for Visitation on Sunday April 14th from 4-7 p.m. with a Celebration of Cora's life on Monday April 15th, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. all at Lambert Funeral Home Chapel, 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville,CA.
