Benjamin Fernandez, born on January 13th, 1920 in Mexico, passed away on October 8th, 2014 in Roseville, California at the age of 94 years. A Long Time resident of Placer County, Benjamin served his country proudly during World War 11 . He worked at the Oakland Naval Supply Center for 30 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed Fishing outings with his family, especially bringing home their catch for dinner, sports, he was an avid fan of the 49's and baseball. He ran food and concession stands for many sporting games at which he taught all of his children how to work them. He loved gambling in Reno with his wife, Alice, including dinner and a show, annual family camping vacations to Yosemite National Park 3 weeks at a time; loved working in his huge home garden as he was so proud of all of the vegetables he grew, and carefully tended to his fruit trees, and shared the joys of his labor with neighbors and friends. Friends and Family are welcome for visitation at Lambert Funeral Home Chapel, 400 Douglas Blvd Roseville, California from 10-11 a.m. with Funeral Services to follow at Lambert Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services with Military Honors to follow at Roseville District Cemetery 421 Berry Street, Roseville, California.Benjamin is survived by his cherished family, wife of 69 years, Alice Fernandez, children, James Fernandez and his wife, Wendy, Robert Fernandez and his wife, Sheila, and Sheryl Fernandez, grandchildren, Michael Fernandez, Bernadette Fernandez, Ryan Van Perre. Great Grandchildren, Caz Fernandez, Ella Van Perre, Isla Van Perre and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed.
