Brady Everett Drummond, Jr was called home to our Lord on Saturday November 26, 2022. Born February 1, 1931, to Brady E Drummond, Sr & Frances Brown Drummond in Rome, Georgia. He married Barbara Anne Bohanan on November 2, 1952, and they were blessed with 70 wonderful years of marriage. Brady was an avid servant to his church, his family, and his friends. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Joe Tarpley Fellowship Sunday School Class. His strong sense of faith, his smile, and his loyalty to others will continue to be an influence in the lives of his family and friends.
Brady graduated from Rome High School then attended the University of Georgia until joining the Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, he returned home to complete his engineering degree at Southern Tech. During his working career he was employed by Atlanta Gas Light in Rome and Myrtle Beach South Carolina and Inland Container in Rome, Memphis Tennessee, and Dallas Texas. He retired with Davis Core and Pad in Rome. Brady, or “The Bear” as he was known by many young men seeking company with his three daughters was devoted to his hometown of Rome and especially the East side of town where you could hear him call out his loyalty to the “Big Blue” Gladiators.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brady E Drummond, Sr; his siblings, Ruby Drummond Haney, Loyce Drummond Meehan, Mildred Drummond Huffman, Ellen Drummond Foster, Martha Drummond Gray, Rebekah Drummond Hart, Patsy Nell Drummond, Bobby Lee Drummond Hippensteel, and Danny Harry Drummond. His daughter, Kandis Drummond Riddle, his son in law, Bradford Lee Riddle, II, and his grandson, Drummond Nickolas Duckworth, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Drummond is survived by his wife, Barbara Bohanan Drummond; his daughters Kim Drummond Evans (Rick) and Kristi Drummond Duckworth (David); his grandchildren Brant Evans (Ashley), Ansley Crawford (Jonathan), Will Evans (Natalie), Ford Riddle (Betsy), Brennen Smith (Gentry), Matt Duckworth, Allie Heineman (Josh); and his great grandchildren Samuel Evans, Isabella Evans, Avery Crawford, Harper Crawford, Ivy Evans, Bennett Evans, Paul Smith, and Florrie Smith. The man known affectionately as Grandi will be missed and remembered by all.
The family will receive friends at Daniel Funeral Home, 901 E 2nd Ave., from 5:00-7:00 on Thursday December 1, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 606 Turner McCall Blvd., on Friday December 2, 2022, at 1:00. The family would like to thank the loving care givers that were such a blessing to our family. We thank you for being angels that gathered around our parents.
