Funeral services will be held for Bobbie Sue Holbert Gresham, 76, a resident of Calhoun, Georgia, on Saturday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home, 901 East Second Avenue, Rome, Georgia. The family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at East View Cemetery in Rome.
Bobbie passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, with her daughters by her side. She was married to Murray C. Gresham , who preceded her in death on June 15, 2005. They were married for forty one years.
Bobbie is survived by her sister, Frankie Hazel Chapman and daughters, Pamela Pomar and her husband, Chris; Karen Robinson and her husband, Jimmy; and stepdaughter, Glenda Robbins. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Gil Gonzalez and his wife Gretchen, Eva Gonzalez, Sam Gonzalez, Jim Robinson and Kathryn Sharma and her husband, Abhi. She is survived by five step grandchildren, Murray Robbins and his wife, Jackie, Billy Robbins and Joe Robbins, Jamie Podraza and her husband Brad, and Jessica Brouillard and her husband, Brian. Bobbie is survived by nine great grandchildren.
Bobbie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including her niece Ricki Walraven who lovingly helped care for her for the last four years of her life.
Bobbie was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Yvonne Holbert, Grady Holbert, Lois Dorsey, Clayton Holbert and his wife, Elsie and Jackie Holsomback.
Bobbie was born to Eva Sue and Cicero Holbert in Calhoun, Georgia on September 22, 1939. She attended Red Bud Elementary and High School and enjoyed a happy childhood with her siblings and an extended family that she always remembered fondly. As a young woman she moved to Rome with her husband Murray and their daughters. She enjoyed a full life as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and a gifted artist. Before his final illness she and Murray enjoyed their years in retirement in Cedar Bluff on Lake Weiss in Alabama.
