Shirley Ann Matlock (Russell), age 81, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2022. She was born in Gravette on February 28, 1941, daughter of the late Violet and Andrew Jackson Russell.
Shirley was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers for thirty years. She was a homemaker while raising three children and then worked as the office manager of Service Electric for twenty years before retiring at 62.
She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and family, gardening, growing flowers and tending to her gardens. She also loved animals, especially her beloved Dachshund, Max.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James “Mousey” Matlock (aged 75) and her sister Peggy Davidson (aged 85).
She is survived by her children, Vicki Safarik of Eureka Springs, Carrie Gildehaus and husband, John of Centerton, Bill Matlock and wife, Kellee of Celina, Texas.; sister, Linda Nelson and husband, Mike of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Kyle, Chad, and Ryan Safarik, Ashley, Afton, and Alex Gildehaus (Shelby), Scarlet, Hudson, and Henry Matlock; and great-grandchildren, Airon, Jay, Asher, Ariane, and Tinsley.
