Nancy Raye Townsend, 59, of Garfield passed away Friday, November 11. She was born June 1, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to Eva Reschke Smith and the late Darwin R. Smith. She enjoyed things from an earlier time including canning, quilting, embroidery, antiques and her animals. Her creations were always signed with her ‘Raye of Sunshine’ signature. She cherished the time she shared with her family. Kids loved Nancy and she not only loved them, but loved making things magical for them! Survivors include her devoted husband, Jim Townsend of Garfield; her son, Aaron Townsend and wife, Mary, of Gravette; her mother, Eva Smith of Rogers; her brothers, Timothy Smith and wife, Misty, of Rogers and David Smith of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her sister, Sherry Pangle and husband, Warren, of Bentonville; her grandchildren, Patience, Robert and Tyler Townsend of Gravette; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
