John Robert Stancik, age 92, of Farmington, formerly of Rogers, died June 17, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 26, 1919, to the late John and Anna (Vitek) Stancik.
John served his country in World War II in the US Air Force and was a retired postal worker. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, serving in various areas of the church. He was also a hospital volunteer and aided with tax preparation for the elderly.
Survivors include his wife, Leotta Stancik of the home; daughter, Gloria Simo of Chicago, Illinois; step-son, Tom Louks and wife Becky of Prairie Grove; grandchildren, Matt Simo of Las Vegas, Melissa Simo of Chicago; and nephews, Donald Sheehan of Boston, Mass., and Ronald and Norm Sheehan, both of Chicago.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers. Interment will follow in Benton County Memorial Park.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be made to Washington Regional Hospice in Fayetteville or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers.
