James “Mousey” Matlock, age 75, of Rogers, died peacefully at his home on April 26, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in Gravette on June 10, 1936, to the late James Milton Matlock, Sr., and Ora (Rotrammel) Matlock.
He attended Immanuel Baptist Church and retired from Keathley Patterson Electric Company in Springdale. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and his faithful dog, Moses.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Matlock; children, Vicki Safarik of Rogers, Carrie Gildehaus and husband John of Bentonville, Bill Matlock and wife Kellee of Bryant; sister, Bonnie Powers of Rogers; grandchildren, Kyle, Chad and Ryan Safarik, Ashley, Afton and Alex Gildehaus, Scarlet, Hudson and Henry Matlock; and great grandchildren Lydia and Ariane.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
