Donald Ray Howard, 72, of Rogers passed away Monday, July 22, 2019. He was born February 1, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Glenn Vernon Howard and Doris Lorene Haddock Howard. He was also preceded by his sisters, Teresa Howard and Glenda Evans. Following graduation, Mr. Howard pursued a degree in science, but situations required his immediate attention and he was unable to finish. Don loved to cook! At 14 he began a career in foodservice as a fry cook in a restaurant managed by his father and through most of his life was involved in several family owned restaurants including Heinie’s Steak House, Howard’s Cafeteria, and was the owner of the Country Fare restaurant. He later retired from Kawneer. His love of nature and science was only surpassed by the joy of times shared with his son and grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Elaine Howard; his sons, Shawn Ray Howard (Kay) of Virginia and Jonathan Rogers (Rosalinda) of Gravette; his daughter, Carmen Krummick (Jim) of Rogers; his grandchildren, Sierra Howard of Virginia, Calie Krummick of Rogers, Carmela Albright (Adam) of Crossett, Miguel Rogers (Erica) and Manuel Rogers (Heather) of Gravette; great-granddaughter, Evelynn Rose Albright of Crossett; numerous extended family members and friends. The family is honoring Donald’s request to be donated to science and no services are being planned at this time.
