Vivian P. DeCarlo, 77, beloved stepmother, step-grandmother and friend, passed away on May 14, 2015. Vivian was the only child of Louis and Angela Perricone in Miami. She was in the first graduating class of the then Notre Dame Academy and earned a bachelors degree from Barry University. For many years, Vivian worked in the mortgage department at Eastern Airlines Credit Union in Miami . After 37 years she retired as the top manager of that department. She married the love of her live in 1962. She was a very active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, The auxiliary Of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian Club. She was a member of Miami Dade Community Chorus and sang throughout Italy in 1992 and for a Papal audience and mass at St Peter's in Rome. Even though her house was very badly damaged after Hurricane Andrew she and her husband tirelessly worked with the American Red Cross, she and her husband moved Merritt Island, FL in 1997.
As a volunteer at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, she was a member of the choir as well, a volunteer receptionist at the Martin Anderson Senior Center and a volunteer server at the Women of the Moose #1544 of Merritt Island. She was also a member of the Italian American Society and the Knights of Columbus. Since 1997, she was a member of the Central Brevard Newcomers’ Club and served on the board for a number of years. As an active member of the Red Hat Mixed Nuts Chapter #8973 of Merritt Island, she was responsible for bringing to the luncheons the white teddy bear with red hat and purple boa which sings, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” .
Vivian enjoyed music, singing, dancing, working in her yard, caring for her plants, Bible study, cruising, traveling with friends, playing Bunco, going to the theater and attending many of the activities, luncheons and dinners of the Newcomers’ Club and other organizations as well as enjoying the practice of her Spanish with friends who spoke the language.
Predeceased by husband, Paul DeCarlo , she is survived by a stepdaughter, Elaine DeCarlo Fisher and her husband Mark of Maryville, TN and a step-granddaughter, Allison Fisher of Miami , FL, as well as many friends.
Memorial Mass will be Friday May 29, 2015 at 1 PM at the Divine Mercy Chursh in Merrtii Island, FL . Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Hospital
