A Celebration of her Life will be held Graveside at Florida Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
Pam was born in Huntington, West Virginia on May 14, 1930. She attended Vinson High School, became a majorette for the band, choose to study the secretarial track, and graduated at the age of 17. Although she did work briefly as a secretary, both in Huntington and Melbourne, her full-time occupation became “Domestic Engineer”. Her job description included wife, stay-at-home mom, daycare grandmother, long distance great grandmother, chief-cook-and-bottle washer, chauffer, housekeeper, lawn care specialist, laundress, seamstress, etc., etc.
In her “spare time “she enjoyed playing tennis with her “Pink Lady” friends from the hospital auxiliary.
Married for 57 years to the late, Robert D. “Bob” Webb, she followed him from West Virginia to New Jersey, Ohio, South Carolina and finally arrived in Melbourne, Florida. Her goal of living in a warm, sunny climate achieved! Along the way they had two children, Deborah S. Romanie and R. Michael Webb; two grandchildren, David P. Romanie II and Alicia M. Webb; and twin great grandchildren, Taylor R. and Madison P. Romanie. After living in Melbourne Beach for 40+ years, Pam and Bob retired to the Pine Creek community of Melbourne. Since they were the first official residents of Pine Creek, Pam became the first official volunteer of Pine Creek. She started as the “Welcome Lady” and newsletter distribution organizer, went on to become a member of the Garden Club and finally a Board Member of the Property Owners Association (POA) for many years. In 2017 she became the proud recipient of the first Pine Creek POA Volunteer of the Year, Outstanding Service Award, an honor and a beautiful plaque she treasured. After 87 active years she finally admitted defeat and succumbed to complications from the bone destroying disease of Osteoporosis at the age of 88. Pam was predeceased by her beloved husband, her older brother James R. Blankenship and her parents.
She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors.
