Martha was born on December 13, 1942 in Chambers County, AL and was named for her favorite aunt, Eleanor Frances Holley of Pisgah, AL.
She attended elementary school in Five Points, AL and attended the Five Points Baptist Church where she was an active young member. She attended junior and early senior high in LaFayette, AL where she enjoyed playing the trumpet and being a majorette in the school band, and singing in the Lafayette Baptist Church choir.
Martha graduated from high school in Opeika, AL and took some college classes at Auburn University in Auburn, AL before beginning her career in 1962 as an operator at the Bell Telephone System. After moving to Merritt Island, FL, she continued her successful career and at her retirement in 1991 was an Assistant Manager Supervisor in the engineering department. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church, Merritt Island, FL where believing the gospel she became a Christian.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard Gary Hall of Merritt Island, FL. Richard and Martha were married on February 17, 1973 at the home of friends in Merritt Island. She is also survived by three siblings: Judy A. Holley, Raleigh, NC; Rodger B. (Judy) Holley, Chattanooga, TN, and Debra J. (Tom) Henzey, Cary, NC; sister-in-law Brenda H. Banister, Griffin, GA; nieces, Kara Montrief and Angela Banister, and nephews, Travis Holley, Jefferson Holley, and Stephen Banister; great nephew and niece, and special friend, Charles Walker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul B. and Lois Rains Holley of Auburn, AL; her older brother, Howard A. Holley of Atlanta, GA; and brother-in-law, Tony W. Banister.
A gathering of family and friends for Martha will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
