Marion Adkins Herndon, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. She was from Merritt Island, born in Mims, and a lifetime resident of Brevard County.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband “KC Herndon”; two sons, Cecil and Joseph; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Survived by her sons; Ronald (Sherrie) and Gary (Karen); daughters; Barbara (Donald) Edwards and Judy (Joseph) Stegner; 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a sister; Betty Jane Owens.
Marion was loved by many and will forever be in our hearts. She lived a life filled with joy and peace because of the Lord Jesus Christ. She worked as a switchboard operator for 59 years of her life working at Southern Bell, KSC, when the first man went to the moon, Brevard Community College and retired at 78 years of age from Patrick Air Force Base her favorite job. Marion met many people throughout her life and let the grace of God show through her to others. Marion attended Rockledge Christian Center (Evangel Temple) for over 45 years. Marion was a woman of God who always encouraged her family and others to serve the Lord.
