Lorene graduated from Waycross High School in Georgia. She then married Parnel Proctor, raising 4 children together. She soon became a single mom raising her children in Melbourne, FL. A few years later she met her now deceased husband, Nash Powers, and got married. They adopted a niece and then had two children of their own. They raised seven children all together, but their family grew even more when they legally adopted 3 grandchildren. Lorene was always there to support anyone in need and was often called “granny” by many of her children’s friends and friends on the block she lived on. She was loved and admired by all.
Lorene lived for her family and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends in her home. She will fondly be remembered as an “angel” putting other people's needs first before her own. Her passion was cooking, specializing in baking cakes, gardening, bowling, and collecting antiques with her husband. Her achievement in life was meeting the needs of her family as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Lorene is survived by her children, Stephen Proctor (Lili), Greg Proctor, Al Powers (Tanya), Tina Powers, and stepdaughter, Ruby Elizabeth Morey, siblings, Joanne Buckelew (Allan), Terry Pafford (Penny) and Candy Vickers (Troy). Lorene was also blessed as a grandmother to 14 grandchildren and as a great grandmother to 12 great grandchildren.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Carson and Mildred Pafford, her son Michael Proctor, her first husband, Parnell Proctor, her second husband Nash Powers, her grandson Michael Proctor, her son David Proctor, and her siblings, Trevia Grimes, Jerry Pafford, Lanelle Jones, and Sue French.
Lorene came from a loving family and was one of the kindest souls on Earth. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
