Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, she came to Brevard County in 1965 from Otis AFB in Massachusetts. She was a member of the PAFB Officers Wives Club, and also worked for Sears as a clerk in housewares during the 1970’s.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Engleton; granddaughters, Carly Engleton of West Palm Beach, FL and Paige Carbone of Lafayette, CO.; great granddaughter, Sallee Carbone of Lafayette, CO.; sister-in-law, Missy Allred of Ogden, UT; and many nieces and nephews.
Nita was a beautiful kind spirit with flashing blue eyes. She was proud to be the wife of a WWII B-17 pilot and mother. She loved to play Bridge and spent many days at Patrick AFB doing so. She loved plumeria, wearing one in her hair daily. Thanks to LCCM for making her final days comfortable. A lovely angel watches over us.
Services were private with burial at Florida Memorial Gardens.
