James Wright Campbell, 72, died April 12, 2021 in Rockledge Florida. Born in Carthage, MO to Benjamin and Florence Campbell. Jim dedicated his life to the service and protection of others as he spent over 37 years working in law enforcement, intelligence, and security in the military, federal government, and private sector. He enlisted in the US Navy after graduating from high school in 1966. MACM Campbell retired from active duty after 24 years of dedicated service. Jim renewed his service to his country as he joined the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Law Enforcement Physical Security Assistance Teams (LEPS) in 1990. Retiring in 2003 to his home in the Florida Keys. Jim’s leadership and mentorship left an indelible mark on his profession.
Jim was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, sea daddy, and loyal friend. He will be greatly missed.
Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years Cindy, daughter Julie, granddaughters Lauren and Tyler, mother Florence, nieces Tracy and Lori, and his beloved corgi Lulu. He was preceded in death by his father Ben, sister Bobbie, brothers Mark and Mike, and nephew Scott.
The family welcomes donations to Fraternal Order of Police Southernmost Lodge #28 be made in Jim’s honor.
Arrangements to return our sailor to the sea will be made at a later date.
