I've just been notified of George Shapow's passing.  He was my tax accountant in Rochester, New York from the time my wife and I moved here around 1982 until he moved to Florida.  A nicer man you would be hard pressed to find.  My sincere condolences to Judy and the family.

So sorry to read in D & C of George’s passing.  He did my taxes for many years.  I always enjoyed our annual repartee at tax time.  He was good at what he did and always very accommodating.  He once filed three years of amended returns for me because I didn’t inform him of a significant deductible annual expense I had.  No charge!  That’s what I call a good businessman and a better person.  

He will be missed.

A wonderful touching memorial for a kind gentle man.  It is very true that George had every tool  imaginable. When we were  in Florida helping my in-laws George's next door neighbors I needed a tool to fix something George offered me multiple options.

I worked with George and Jim Kay for many years at Kodak.  We shared many good times and laughs.  One memorable was the time George had it move his office 3-inches from it's current position.  The sights and sounds  from his old office were something to behold.  Many, many good memories and lunches at "Bill's Original".

I was so very sorry to learn this morning of George’s passing.  I was just a kid in college when I first met him in 1980; he was a training designer in CESD Copy Products and I was Kodak’s first technical writing co-op student. We shared many laughs over those ugly-yellow cubicle walls with the likes of Jim Kay,  Nancy Hanner and all the writers, training designers and engineers. Although I left Kodak after four years, I still saw George annually for decades after, catching up on the doings of our mutual Kodak friends and the adventures of our families while we got the taxes done. Talk of his children became talk of grandchildren…oh, how he loved you all! Judy, may you and all your family be encircled in God’s grace and comfort. 

I worked with George at Kodak for many years and he did our taxes.  He was a good man and a trusted friend.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I pray that you will find comfort through this time.

george was one of the most intelligent and hard working individuals that i have ever met.He not only ran a successful business but was very active at temple emanu-el.My smartest move was convincing george and judy to leave h and r block to work for me handling the preparation of my clients tax returns. My condolences to his wonderful family.

Very sorry for your loss. George was a special and interesting person. I always enjoyed our conversations. He was very helpful to me. I will always be thankful that we met and were friends. I’ll also always be grateful for the opportunity afforded me because of George and Judy.  May he Rest In Peace. 

I will always treasure  George for putting up with us  after we had stopped by to say hi on a Sunday afternoon on our way  home to Toronto and got snowed in for a  week. 
He was a sweetheart and we know how much you will miss him.
