

Francis W. Larkin, 84, died unexpectedly at home September 3, 2010. He was born August 8, 1926 in Peoria, Illinois. He was raised in Illinois and New Mexico and served in World War II aboard the cruiser U.S.S. Guam in the Pacific. He was married to the late Filomena Larkin and resided in Rhode Island prior to moving to Brevard County in 1955 where he was employed at Cape Canaveral Missile Test Range for 15 years. He later worked for J. D. Weekly Lumber in Rockledge and retired in 1988. He is survived by his sister, Corabelle Erwin of New Mexico; his son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Connie Larkin of Columbia, South Carolina; daughter, Joann and son-in-law Kent Read of Satellite Beach, Florida; granddaughters, Lori Mckelvey (Erik) of Columbia, South Carolina, Doctor Brooke Bair (Andrew) of Ponte Vedra, Florida; grandsons, Steven Larkin (Selena) of Columbia, South Carolina and Jared Toomey of Jacksonville, Florida. In addition, he is survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Jack and Emmy Mckelvey of Columbia, South Carolina. There will be a funeral service at 3 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Florida Memorial Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
