Elizabeth Adams Shearer, age 91, of Melbourne, FL passed away at Health First Regional Hospital Tuesday, October 16, 2018. She was born in Ford, Kentucky and was Queen of a Red Hats Chapter in Melbourne, FL. She was also a member of CB Club in Melbourne as well as a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and Daily Bread, where she won The Star Award. Elizabeth was a professional seamstress and worked for McCall’s Patterns.
Elizabeth’s favorite childhood memories were of her and Ruth Willis Claude since they always had so much fun. She fondly remembered going to her Aunt Lorene’s and having her brush Elizabeth’s hair. More recently, Elizabeth treasured the fun she had with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Danny L. Shearer married to Mary Arnold Shearer, Donald L. Shearer married to Janet Wilson Shearer, and Martha Shearer Carse married to late Edward E. Carse; six grandchildren: Angela Stanley, Wendy Canuel, Sam Shearer, Donna Salazar, Donnita Dampier, Jennifer Alberty; ten great grandchildren: Nathan Stanley, Megan Stanley, Dillon Shearer, Tyler Shearer, Maria Canuel, JP Canuel, Gage Alberty, Aidan Dampier, Blake Salazar, and Mayiah Salazar.
A Visitation will be held Monday, October 22, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial 5950 S US Hwy 1 Rockledge, FL. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10am at Florida Memorial Gardens 5950 S US Hwy 1 Rockledge, FL. with Church Service to follow at 11am at Crossroads Community United Church of Christ 2436 Croton Rd, Melbourne, FL with lunch immediately following in the church hall.
