Bette Ann Markham Hart, age 84, of Cape Canaveral, FL passed away February 6, 2020 at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, FL. Born July 17, 1935 in Guin, Alabama, Bette relocated with her family to her hometown of Belle Glade, FL, when she was 6 months old. She came to reside in her beloved Brevard County in 1967.
She worked at various government jobs including the Division of Driver’s License office on Merritt Island where she was a driver’s license test examiner.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Janis Tedder Prather (Robert) of St Cloud FL, son, James Hart II (Wendi) of Cocoa, FL, and daughter, Kimberly Tedder of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren, Brandi Miller (Carl) of St Cloud FL, Christopher Miller (Ashley) of Key Largo FL, Thomas Colombrito IV of St Cloud FL, Curtis Colombrito (Katie) of St Cloud FL, Jordan Hart of Cocoa FL, Shayne Warnick (Kellie) of So Lake Tahoe CA, Morgan Tedder (Josh) of Titusville FL, Chase Tedder of Rockledge FL, Austin Prather (Sara) St Cloud FL, Kailey Lawyer (Ryan) of St Cloud FL and nine great grandchildren.
Bette was a lover of all things southern, especially southern cooking, and country and gospel music. She was passionate about traveling, enjoying bluegrass festivals all across the United States.
When at home, she loved to sit on her back patio, taking in the Banana River and all it had to offer, or in her studio creating oil paintings for her friends and family. Bette was also an accomplished seamstress, creating costumes for the Cocoa Village Playhouse.
