Minnie J. Bennett

Minnie J. Bennett, 91, of Rockford, IL, passed away suddenly, Monday, August 13, 2018 at Swedish American Hospital. She was born March 3, 1927 in Farber, MO, the daughter of David and Glen Simons. Minnie married Thomas Bennett on July 3, 1947. Minnie was a loving mother of seven children, who loved bingo, playing the lottery, and word find puzzles. Minnie was a member of the Rockford Peaches and continued her love of baseball by being a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.

Minnie is loved and missed by her children, Tom (Stevia) Bennett, Betty (Tim) Rayburn, Nancy (Ken) Barker, Donna Bennett, Tony Bennett, and Dale (Sandra) Bennett; daughter-in-law, Laura Bennett; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas, son, Glenn, two brothers, and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102.
