Eleanor E. Hammond

Eleanor E. Hammond, 90, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 with family by her side. Eleanor was born in Pecatonica on February 2, 1928, the daughter of George and Edna (Kruger) Zweep. She married Ralph Hammond and he preceded her in death. Eleanor owned and operator her own furniture upholstery and cleaning business. Eleanor is survived by her daughters: Sue (Terry) Nelson and Jean (Virgil) Shelton; grandsons: Ken Shelton (Lynn Kalepp, best friend and caregiver to Eleanor) and Tyler Nelson; granddaughters: Heather Nelson Conkwright and Genessa McVay; great-granddaughters: Jasmine Long, Kersten Bartelt, Harlee Shelton, Peyton Conkwright, Shelby Conkwright and Adelaide McVay; great-grandson: Ashor Bickle; great-great granddaughters: Brynleigh Bartelt, Sophy Long; great-great grandsons: Griffin Long and Malakai Walker. Eleanor was preceded by her parents, husband, 3 brothers Harlen, Donald and Warren.

Service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be 2:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State Street in Rockford. Visitation for Eleanor will from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow in Willwood Cemetery.
