Dawn H. Peterson-Kruse, 50, of Rockford, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 after a sudden illness at Swedish American Hospital. She was born May 28, 1970 in Gary, IN, the daughter of Linda Crigger and Larry Bock, Sr. Dawn was an accountant for Bone’s Tire Service. She married Jim Kruse on October 23, 2020 at the 2 Wheel Inn, where they met. Dawn enjoyed gambling, fishing, camping and swimming. She had a love for gardening. Dawn loved her German shepherd, Gunner. She had the knack for making people laugh. Dawn liked turtles and most of all, she adored her grandchildren.
Dawn is loved and missed by her husband, Jim Kruse; children, Natasha Bock and Zane Peterson; her mother and step-father, Linda and Charles Carlson; step-daughters, Emily Kruse and Rachel McDermott; grandchildren, Makaya Bursing, Brenan Trujillo, James Cook, Gabriel Cook, Julia Diverdi and Jaxon Diverdi; siblings, Elton Bock, Larry Bock and Krystal Bock; best friends, Kat Mohr and Teresa Hatfield; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jenny Cahoon.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL, 61102 with a time of sharing at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
