Susan D. Smith

Susan (Schlack) Smith, age 64, of New Brighton, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at UPMC Jameson. Susan was born December 8, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Schlack and Joanne Schlack. Susan was a devout Christian, and a master crocheter. She dearly loved her family, a dedicated Steeler fan, loved all animals, especially her cats.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 5 years; Richard Smith; two daughters and two sons; Pamela (David) Bevington, Benjamin (Jennifer) Lewarchik, Joleene (Canaan) Baxter and Ron (Meghan) Breedlove. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Alyssa, David, Jacob, Darran, Fiona, Finley, Layla and Abby; one sister; Amy Jo Schlack, two brothers; Raymond Schlack Jr. and Brian 'Jeff' Schlack, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Ross and Bonnie Boren and her paternal grandparents; Ed and Ruby Schlack.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 9am until the time of funeral services at 12 noon at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
