Jack Norman Bauman, 96 of New Brighton, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. He was born August 7, 1922 in Beaver Falls, son of the late Leroy C. and Mabel (Beaver) Bauman, Sr. Jack proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a life member of the Rochester VFW.
Jack was a man of varied interests. He was a Tennessee Squire, enjoyed Country Music, singing and playing his guitar. He was a member of the New Castle Country Music Association. Jack also had a number of hobbies that included leather crafting and photography. He was a freelance photographer for the Beaver County Times and at the Vanport Police Department Crime Scenes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives: Naomi Smith Bauman and Connie (Bailey) Evans Bauman; two brothers: Leroy, Jr. (killed in action at the Battle of the Bulge) and Paul; and his sister: Shirley.
Jack is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Benjamin (Jane) Evans, Jr., Beaver; David Evans, New Brighton; two daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley (George) Tanner, Beaver; Sherry (Frank) Petruccelli, Rochester; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law: Cathy and “Rivets” Moore, Lakeland, FL.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) and on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Military Honors will be presented by members of the Beaver County Special Unit on Friday, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a service conducted by the Rev. James Krouse, pastor of the New Brighton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
