Hattie Lorraine (Miller) Hunsinger, 81, widow of Charles F. Hunsinger, of Industry and formerly of Georgetown PA, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 in the comfort of her granddaughters home. Born in Kingwood West Virginia, she was one of 5 sisters and 10 brothers to the late John Miller and Virginia (Carr) Miller.
She was a proud homemaker and devoted wife for many years prior to entering the work force as custodian, for the South Side School District, where she later retired due to health problems related to a pancreatic tumor.
Hattie served as Gold Star Mother. Her favorite passed time was her daily breakfast with her beloved husband Fred of who she was married to for over 60 years. Her other favorite past times included bingo, feeding and watching her outside birds, shopping at the local thrift stores, and cuddling with her "cheater" dog, Gizmo.
She will be sadly missed by her two children, James D. (Gayle) Hunsinger of Alabama, her daughter, Deborah J. (Otto) Hoover of Florida, three grandchildren, Rebecca M. (Jeffrey) Lampe , James D. (Cindy) Hunsinger, Amie J. (Brent) Shaw, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward Hunsinger and her husband Charles Fred Hunsinger.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Rt. 68 Rochester, PA 15074. A service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Dr. Atkison and the staff of AHN for giving us 14+ "good" years after the discovery of a pancreatic tumor. We would also like to thank AHN Hospice for helping to facilitate Hattie's last wishes by letting her comfortably pass at home surrounded by her family and things .
