George was born on August 17, 1936 to the late Rev. Waldemar and Helen Buch. George retired from Westinghouse Corp. (Eaton Cutler-Hammer) after 33 years of service. He also worked in distribution for the Beaver County Times and Pittsburgh Post Gazette. After retirement he enjoyed time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and serving others. George was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin and Pirates fan. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, puzzling, stamp collecting, riding his bicycle, reading his Bible and the Beaver County Times. He was a man of God who faithfully attended Beaver Assembly of God (Ridge Pointe Family Church). There, he was a longtime leader of the Royal Rangers club and enjoyed fulfilling supporting roles in the annual Hosana production. He was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School class of 1956, a member of the Beaver County republican committee and he proudly served our country in the US Marines Corps.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Ted Buch.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Ann Buch; his children, Deborah (Ken) Sokol, Melinda (Gary) Fair and Tim Buch; four grandchildren Christian Sokol, Noah Sokol, Lauren Fair and Gavin Fair; his sister, Naomi Prox; a very special sister-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Hepak; along with several nieces and nephews.
George will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker, good provider and a man who was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He was kind, peaceful and left his family a legacy of faith, love, and integrity.
Arrangements are entrusted to Saul Gabauer Funeral Home at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 Route 68, Rochester, Pennsylvania 15074 (724) 728-2456. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, May 7th between 10 am and 12 pm followed by a funeral service at noon. A private celebration of life luncheon will be attended by family and close friends thereafter.
