Donna Jean (Winkle) Harcher passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2023. Donna was affectionately called Hubbone by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Andrew Harcher.
Born to Harold and Willow Winkle, Donna was a lifelong resident of Center Township. She was the sixth of nine children and was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Irons and Sally Lynn; brothers, Joseph, James and Calvin Winkle and nephews David Snow and Michael Winkle.
Donna is survived by son Michael Harcher, Center Township; and daughter Dana ( Al ) Mathews; granddaughters Connor ( Robert ) and Grayson Mathews; grandson, Tyler Mathews; and two great grandchildren, Cole Lomax and Briar Mathews all of Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is also survived by a brother, Harold Winkle, and sisters Margaret Lurch and Mary Hanton, and multiple generations of nieces and nephews
Donna was a lifetime member of Vankirk Lutheran Church where she served on the Church Council, Alter Guild and as a Sunday and Bible School teacher. When her children were young, Donna was very active with both Girl and Boy Scouts. She was an accomplished equestrian having competed in horse shows riding her treasured horse, Rawhide. Donna reveled in having a large family, loved to cook, and was known for her holiday stuffing and meringue pies. She was creative, loved playing cards and board games, and an ace at home and auto repair. Donna lived her life as a Christian and her family takes comfort in knowing they will be together again in Heaven.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 11:00 AM till the time of service at noon, at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home 273 Rt. 68 Rochester, PA 15074. Donna will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
