Donald Richard Majors, 79, of Beaver, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Father’s Day, June 18, 2023, at Heritage Valley Beaver, just five days prior to his 80th birthday. He is now in the loving and gracious hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born June 23, 1943, in New Brighton, PA, he was the son of the late David (Abe) and Dorothy (Ball) Majors.
Don was a very hard and efficient worker who was employed for over 45 years. He began his career in 1962 at the Gross Furniture Company in Beaver Falls, but spent the majority of his employed years working at Townsend Textron and Col-Fin Specialty Steel Corp. in Ellwood City and Fallston, respectively. Don was the first to be honored as Col-Fin Specialty Steel’s “Employee of the Year”, an award which was earned and bestowed upon him multiple times. After his retirement, Don always kept busy doing things he enjoyed such as washing/waxing cars, yardwork, and providing handyman services for the landlord and tenants in the apartment complex where he lived.
In his spare time, Don loved to walk, and could be seen daily walking the streets of Beaver, Rochester, Bridgewater and New Brighton. He was also a dog lover, and spent hours over the years playing and walking with his favorite canine pals (Bootsie, Peanut, Pumpkin, and neighbors Lincoln, Teddy and Wilson). Don also enjoyed playing cards and looked forward to his weekly game nights laughing with his twin brother and children.
Since the time of his salvation, Don faithfully attended the Marion Hill Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in New Brighton.
Don will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol (Langnecker) Majors and his two children, Brenda (John) Podbielski, Beaver Falls, and Richard Majors, Beaver. He will also be missed by his twin brother Ron Majors and sister Judy (Ron) West all of New Brighton, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Margetic and brother James Majors. He was also preceded in death by his grand dogs, Peanut and Pumpkin, whom he loved dearly.
Friends will be received on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM, at the Marion Hill Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 4607 Rochester Road, New Brighton, PA., with the Rev. James J. Krouse officiating.
