Susan Mary Schmidt

Born in Buffalo, NY on August 30, 1961, Susie had special needs associated with Down syndrome. She

lived at home (Chili, NY) where her needs were lovingly met by her family. Susie enjoyed family gatherings and celebrating her birthday was the highlight of every year.

In 2004, Susie moved to Middle Cheshire Group Home, Canandaigua, NY. This life change brought Susie a new independence, friendships and continued good care. She was dearly loved by her community and caregivers. Susie’s sweet smile and playful nature will be remembered by all that knew her.

Predeceased by her devoted parents, Donald J. Schmidt Sr., Eileen (née Kolb) and brother Gerard. Survived by brothers Donald (Linda), Randal (Patricia), sister-in-law Cathy Schmidt and aunt Mary Lou Korpanty as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 3000 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624, on Saturday, October 15, 2022. The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 9:00 AM at the Church, followed by the Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
