Carol was born in Williamsport, PA where she met her husband of 60 years, Imants, at the local high school. They moved to Rochester shortly after being married, although she never lost her affinity for the mountains of Pennsylvania.
Carol and Imants raised their children, Audrey and Brent, in Chili Center, NY, and were cherished and longtime members at various churches over the course of six decades. Carol loved to sing and joyfully served through musical ministry, teaching and multiple forms of outreach within each church’s fellowship.
She graduated from University of Rochester Nursing School with both a BSN (Highest Distinction) and MSN. She went on to be an outstanding, generous, and highly resourceful Nurse Practitioner who served in various local hospitals and area businesses. She had a passion and calling to teach and taught as an adjunct professor in the nursing program at Roberts Wesleyan College as well as a volunteer professor in Burundi, Africa, at Hope Africa University School of Nursing.
Carol was a talented and passionate gardener who enjoyed bicycling, voraciously read, and loved music. She would belt out songs at the top of her lungs and dance most definitely to her own beat. She loved good soup and food made from scratch, constantly experimenting and creating new concoctions in the kitchen.
As a couple, Carol and Imants ministered to and blessed many people by generously opening their home in a variety of ways that included sharing food and Bible ministry. Together, they created beautiful gardens that inspired and uplifted visitors.
Her impact was far-reaching and we are blessed to have been in her laughter and joy.
A memorial service for Carol will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the main sanctuary at Pearce Church, 4322 Buffalo Rd., North Chili, NY 14514. A livestream of the service will be available on the church’s YouTube link (https://www.youtube.com/c/PearceChurch) and will begin the prelude and slideshow at 10:15am.

Donations ~ Carol and Imants have sponsored and corresponded with children through International Child Care Ministries (ICCM) for over 25 years. They are currently sponsoring four children in Ethiopia and Burundi, Africa.
