He was born in Shelton, Washington on November 5, 1942. Ted Graduated from Shelton High school and went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Central Washington State College. He was married to Gae Leilani Palmerton on September 7, 1963.
Ted had a career in marketing and training for Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors. He was a member of the Clinton River Sailing Club and Parkinson's support Group, and had a passion for sailing, cooking, reading, and travel.
Ted celebrated his creative talents through writing, sharing his thoughts of the day, the culinary arts, photography and music. Ted was an Irish tenor and he loved to sing the old Irish ballads with his dad. After his successful career with Chevrolet, he spent his retirement sailing on the Great Lakes and editing the Catalina Club newsletter. Gae and Ted also enjoyed many travels together. Ted was a loving father who felt it was important not only to teach his children how to survive but also how to get the most enjoyment out of living. He, by example, taught his family to never quit, to be courageous, and that life is worth fighting for no matter what.
He is survived by his daughters Molly LaLone and Jennifer Knoflach; his grandchildren Alice LaLone, Philip LaLone, James Knoflach, and Bridget Knoflach; his sister Mary Suzanne Wing, and his brothers Timothy Wing, Daniel Wing, and Paul Wing.
A memorial visitation for Ted will be held Thursday February 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ted's honor to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
