Rose was born the daughter of Vito and Mary Bonfiglio on November 4, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. Rose graduated from Pershing High School, class of 1958. She married Nino Scalia on June 11, 1960 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Detroit. Rose and Nino raised their family in Warren before moving to Rochester Hills in 1979. Rose worked in banking for many years at NBD and LaSalle Bank, and as a greeter at Meijer in retirement. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Meadow Brook Professional Women’s Society. Rose volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels at the Older Persons Commission (OPC) in Rochester.
Rose enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She loved activities and spending time with family and friends.
Rose is survived by her husband Nino of 62 years; daughters Ann Marie Clark, Sandra (Chris) Snyder, and Linda Scalia; grandchildren Christopher Clark, Anthony Clark, Alexander Snyder, and Ryan Snyder; sisters Kathleen Allen and Joanne (Robert) Blaszkowski; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose is predeceased by her parents.
Rose’s family will welcome everyone to a visitation on Thursday August 18th, 2022 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. Rose will lie instate on Friday August 19th, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, located at 1400 Inglewood Avenue in Rochester. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
