Maxine M. Ross

ROSS, Maxine M., age 91, life-long resident of Rochester, died December 6, 2010; Maxine became the Village Clerk of Rochester in 1957, when the Village became the City of Rochester in 1967 she was the City Clerk until she retired in January 1988; she graduated from Rochester High School in 1937, she worked for Dale and Nina Martin Insurance Agency prior to being the Clerk; life member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, member of the Alter Guild at St. Paul’s; life member of O.E.S. #495, Clawson; after retirement she volunteered at the Balian Eye Center in Rochester; she is survived by her brother George (Joan) Ross of Rochester Hills and nieces Michalle Ross (Robert Sobieralski) and Casey Ross (Glenn Witalec); Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 620 Romeo St., Rochester; the family will receive friends at the church from 12 Noon until time of service; memorial contributions to Michigan Humane Society or Leader Dogs for the Blind would be appreciated; arrangements entrusted to Pixley Funeral Home, Rochester.
