Loren graduated from Lake Orion High School. He was married to Joyce E. Schmidt on August 9, 1950. Loren worked as a milkman for Porritt Dairy, a truck driver for Snow Bowl, and as a maintenance worker at Grow Chemical. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post 334 and a member at First Congregational Church. Loren loved golf and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine Johnston, Ardise Mersino, and Dora Perry; his daughter in law, Sharon Schmidt; his son in law, Dean Knapp; and his great-grandson, Rhys Schmidt. Loren is survived by his wife, Joyce Schmidt; his children, Timothy (Ladeana) Schmidt, Stephen (Robin) Schmidt, Mark Schmidt, Lori Knapp, and Michael (Cyndi) Schmidt; his 14 grandchildren; and his 12 great grandchildren, with one on the way.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr, Rochester, MI. A Funeral Service will be on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 1 PM, with gathering beginning at 12 Noon, at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, MI.
