GERALDINE MARY RAWA, age 93, of Rochester, passed away on March 23, 2023. She was born on February 25, 1930 in Hamtramck, daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine Ryniewicz. On March 17, 1951, Geraldine married Richard Rawa and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2009.
For many years she was a crossing guard for Rochester School District, and was a volunteer at OPC for over 30 years. A longtime member of Red Hats, Geraldine also enjoyed painting, crafts, shopping, reading, gardening, bingo and garage sales.
She is the loving mother of Susan Rawa, Stephen (Carrie) Rawa, Allen (Anne) Rawa, the late Joseph Rawa, Shelly (Timothy) Smith, and Lisa Ann (Daniel) Crocenzi; beloved grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 9.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester. In state at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery.
