Donald Phillip Saxon

SAXON, Donald P., 93, of Rochester Hills, passed away January 2, 2018. He was born in Detroit on July 14, 1924 to the late Julian and Gertrude Saxon. He graduated from Cooley HS in Detroit and was a charter member of Delta Sigma Phi at Michigan Tech, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII and retired from TACOM after 40 years of service. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Loving husband of Ellie Saxon; father of Janet Saxon and Michael (Nancy) Saxon; grandfather of Heather (Steven) Zach and great-grandfather of Carson and Amelia. Visitation 1 – 6 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at University Presbyterian Church, 1385 S. Adams Rd., in Rochester Hills; Mr. Saxon will lie in-state from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
