Donald Rees

REES, Donald W., longtime resident of Rochester Hills, age 79, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Canterbury on the Lake in Waterford. Donald was born on September 3, 1935 in Detroit, son of the late Howard & Velma (Dalton) Rees. A veteran of the US Army, Donald was an Electrical Engineer and Physicist for TACOM in Warren for 33 years. In 1990 he assumed the same position for General Dynamics until his retirement in 2000. Donald was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Paula, sons Mark Rees of Berkley, Dan Rees of Madison Heights, and Matt (Robin) Rees of Holly. Also survived by grandchildren Nick and Molly Rees. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014, 11 am, at St. John Lutheran Church, 1011 W. University Drive, Rochester. Rev. E. Paul Burrow will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 am until time of service. The family will also receive friends Monday from 5 to 8 pm at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Military Honors and Inurnment will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation at www.parkinsonsmi.org. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
