Delores Carr, age 93, passed away on October 30, 2021. She was born on April 7, 1928 in Birmingham, Michigan, to her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Tuffin. Delores spent 70 years as a church pianist, most of which was with First Baptist Church of Rochester. She started playing at services as young as 12 years old. Delores was used by the Lord in many peoples’ lives. Along with being a church pianist, Delores spent many years as a bank manager for what was the Pontiac State Bank. Besides her job with the bank and being the church pianist, it was known that Delores’ family was the most important to her. Delores’ greatest joy being her children.
Delores was preceded by her loving husband of 38 years, Bruce Carr; her sister, Wanda Kratt; and her son-in-law, John Koger. She is survived by her children, Carol (Randy) Hoover, Janet Koger, and Patricia (Joel) Woodcock; her grandchildren, Jason, Christy, Janelle, Jeremy, Jared, Alyssa, Trisha, and Kendra; her 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanine Justice; her brother, Tommy Tuffin; and her nephew, Gary Kratt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 5-8 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr, Rochester, Michigan. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11 AM, with gathering beginning at 10:30 AM, at First Baptist Church of Rochester, 6377 Orion Rd, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48306. Delores will be laid to rest next to Bruce at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
