Daniel Arthur “DUKE” Fifield, age 55, of Imlay City, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Duke was born on April 30, 1962 in Pontiac, and grew up in Rochester. He is survived by: wife Julie Fifield; mother Susan Fifield of Richmond; children Shanna (Jeff ) Stamps of Lake Orion, Nicole Fifield of Lake Orion, Darci Fifield of Imlay City and LeAnne (Boyd) Sanday of Brown City; brother Adam (Kasey) of Richmond; sister Erin (Dane) Fox of Attica and 7 grandchildren. Also survived by father-in-law Gerald K. Myers of Millington, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Leleand Fifield and mother-in-law Marilyn Myers. Duke graduated from Rochester Adams High School in 1980. After working many years, he retired from Experi-Metal. His great passion was serving on the Goodland Township Fire Department, which he joined in 1995 and has been the Assistant Chief since 2004. In 2017 Duke became the president of the Michigan State Firemen’s Association. He was also a State of Michigan Fire Instructor, as well as a first responder. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the North Goodland Baptist Church, 3080 N. VanDyke Road, Imlay City. Pastor Terry Blackmer officiating. Duke will lie in state at the church Wednesday at 10 a.m. The family will also receive friends Tuesday, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester.
