Craig Robert Hart, age 69, lifetime resident of Rochester Hills and Avon Township died on Sunday, December 20, 2020. Craig was born on April 29, 1951, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (LaFurge) Hart.
Craig grew up in Avon Township, graduated from Avondale High School in 1969, and worked with his father in their body & collision repair shop. He later worked for Huntington Ford Collision Center and eventually joined the design engineering group at General Motors Tech Center in Warren where he retired in 2015. In 1973 Craig married the love of his life, Dianne Marie Miner. Craig was an avid sportsman and was a member of the National Rifle Association, Detroit Sportsman Club, Motor City Speed Shooting Club and Rio Salado Sportsmen Club of Mesa, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his 25 year old son, Travis Craig Hart in 2002, his parents; brothers David & Doyle Hart, and father-in-law Wilbert L. Miner.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dianne; daughter Lisa Marie (Kevin) Hall; grandchildren Madyson, Chassity, Taylor, Shaylee, Alyssa, Jase, and Jackson; great grandchildren Bryor and Brenner. Also survived by his sisters Sherry McReynolds, Lori Gingiloski, Gail Hart, and Candy Ross; mother-in-law Virginia Miner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of Craig’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of his granddaughter Shaylee.
