Anthony J. Lafata, age 78 of Rochester Hills, passed away on October 13, 2021. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. He was born in Detroit on March 20, 1943. Anthony "Tony" graduated from Austin High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University. He married his loving wife, JoAnn (Staszewski) Lafata, on May 13, 1970. Tony worked in restaurant management for the majority of his adult life. He was a member of the Lions Club and had a passion for life, family, and friends. Anyone who knew Tony was touched by his kindness, humor, and mild temperament. He was truly always a source of positivity and was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife JoAnn and his children John (Nicki) Lafata, Stephanie Lafata, and Joe (Nicole) Lafata. He was an adoring Papa to Vincent, Sammy, Lexie, Giana, Anthony, and Luca. Tony will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00PM, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI 48307. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church located at 1400 Inglewood Ave, Rochester, MI 48307 on October 22, 2021 with an in-state time of 10:30AM and 11:00AM funeral mass.
