JoAnn B. Potter, age 93, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
For 33 years, JoAnn served as a nurse, touching countless lives with her comforting presence and exceptional care. Her commitment to healing and kindness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur William Potter, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories and unwavering love.
She is survived by her sons: Arthur "Willie" Jr. (and his deceased wife Teresa Potter), Steve C. (and Laura Potter), Tommy L. (and his living wife Cindy Potter), Ricky L., and Mark A. (and deceased wife Lois Potter). JoAnn's legacy of love extends to her many grandchildren; Chase (Mitzi), Charity (John), Travis (Ashlee), Tab (Megan) and great-grandchildren; Maya, Noah, Eloise, Matilda, Marlee, Ainsley and Brody; Step grandchildren; Corey and Cody, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
The family would like to thank Ricky Potter for the love and care he gave her for three and a half years while JoAnn was bedridden and needed support. The unending devotion and love he gave her was not unnoticed or unappreciated by those who loved JoAnn.
The family would also like to extend special thanks to Norman and Wanda, JoAnn's neighbors of many years. They were always there for her and were incredibly caring in their friendship and loyalty. They are especially grateful for their gifts of food and conversation.
While JoAnn's physical presence may be gone, her spirit lives on in the memories of those she touched and the love she shared.
A graveside service to honor JoAnn's life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Saturday April 27th, 2024 at 12:00 pm, allowing family and friends to come together and celebrate her remarkable journey.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave during her time on earth.
