Zan Avery Marlatt

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Zan Marlatt, aged 74, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Temecula Valley Hospital. He was surrounded by his closest family during his final moments.

Zan was the youngest of five children and the epitome of a self-made man. While working a college job at Alpha Beta Supermarkets, a representative from Hussman recognized his strong work ethic and offered him a position on the direct sales team, marking the beginning of his incredible career. Zan spent nearly 18 years at Hussman, eventually becoming Vice President of Sales for the entire Western Zone. During his time there, he also earned his MBA, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After his tenure at Hussman, Zan went on to lead divisions at A-1 Enterprises and Anthony International as a General Manager before retiring.

Zan’s greatest joy came from life’s simplest pleasures. Whether he was grilling at home, surrounded by friends and family, or watching Die Hard on the couch with his kittens on Christmas Day, Zan was always most content enjoying the little things. He was one of the most generous, dependable, and gentle souls to ever grace our lives, and his radiant spirit will be deeply missed. Zan is survived by his wife, Helen; his sons, Dustin and Jason; and his grandson, Grayson.
